Wednesday Night Adult Education: Joshua – Land and Loss

October 22 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until May 7, 2026

Throughout the Old and New Testaments, the common thread in every biblical story is Jesus. That’s why The Gospel Project for Adults is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study that continuously traces the need for redemption in those stories and in our stories, too.

We’ll start with where we left off last spring, with the book of Joshua.

God had promised His rescued people a land flowing with milk and honey. True to His word, He led the Israelites to conquer that promised land. But after settling in, the people settled into sin, so God disciplined them. When they cried out to God, the Lord raised a judge to deliver them. Then they had rest. But this cycle of sin and deliverance continued. Humanity’s tendency toward sin has never gone away on our own efforts, even with the help of judges, priests, and prophets. What humanity has always needed was a Savior, an ultimate Judge and Deliverer who will wipe out sin and cleanse our sinful hearts forever. Jesus Christ came to fulfill that need and to restore our hearts, giving us true rest in Him.

The Wednesday night class is open to anyone age 16+ and starts after the MidWeek Meal while your kids are in their programs. Materials will be provided each week and will be out in the foyer if you missed a class and want to catch up. There is no need to sign up, just show up on Wednesday nights.

This year our Kids Ministry is also doing The Gospel Project curriculum, starting in Joshua as well. You can all discuss the material at home around the dinner table!
