Welcome to our messages page, where you can hear relevant, encouraging and thought provoking teaching from the truths of the Bible.

Our Current Sermon Series

While history has traditionally seen Acts simply as stories about the Apostles – we now see the book is so much more. It is certainly an account of the eleven disciples after Jesus is raised from the dead, but even more so, it is an account of the early Christians: an account of the Holy spirit, an account of the early church, and most significantly, the account of the continued work of Jesus Christ and God Himself, bringing His living witness to the ends of the Earth through His people. So, come join us this year as we  explore how the Gospel of Christ first changed the world, and as we ourselves learn what it means to let that same gospel change our lives and our world, even today.

Together, Living with Purpose - Introduction

In this introduction to the sermon series, Together, Living with Pupose, Pastor Ken Abramson shows how a church community is like a marriage, with stages of growth and health, alongside stages of stagnation. Most marriages settle for an "OK" marriage and never strive for or even know what a great, healthy, loving marriage is. Likewise, many churches settle for being a "nice Christian church", never knowing that there is so much more that God wants for us. Join us as we start down the path of God's vision for Grand Rapids Evangelical Free Church.

Every church is not meant to be the same nor stay the same as it was. We all have at our core the same message, but how we share that message is unique and changes as the world changes around us. God calls each church to be unique so that we may reach the widest variety of people with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church leaders have been meeting for several months to seek God's guidance about what He wants Grand Rapids Evangelical Free Church to be. Out of those meetings, the leadership has developed a revised vision statement for our church that spells out how GREFC is unique among area churches in how it will reach people for Jesus Christ. This sermon series details our revised vision statement, what it means and why we believe its the right path for us. Join us as we delve into Together, Living With Purpose.

Our Vision

Faith is a Journey

You never really “arrive” at becoming a mature disciple maker. We are all called to continually grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus, to grow in love for others, to get better at blessing those around us and to increasingly share the love of Jesus with everyone. At GREFC we realize this through four key areas: Connect, Equip, Serve & Go!
