Wednesday morning saw our crew eating breakfast, taking in the gorgeous views and boning up on their need-to-know Spanish words. Sandy makes sure everyone is wearing sunscreen and has sufficient water for the day.
Before heading to the build sites, the team prays. They pray again at the jobsites with the Dominican workers & families with Renee translating. We’re pretty sure none of them are saved so this is a profound opportunity to show them the love and care of our Lord!
Pastor Juan was on-site today and got to meet many of the crew for the first time.
And progress was made on all the houses.
This is the home being built for Martin Valentin, his wife, his 3 girls and their 6-day-old baby boy.
Again, in the middle of the day, the crews found shade and re-hydrated.
Here’s Doug’s build site by the end of Day 2.
Here is end of Day 2 for Team Lanzo.
Lest you think it’s all work and no fun, here are a few pictures that show you otherwise.
In my husband’s own words, “The kids here are pretty stinking cute and all we see seem happy go lucky, amused by the simplest things, love to look at the pictures on my phone and zoom & scroll through them proficiently. One neighbor boy at the center was very interested in my work pictures with heavy equipment.”
The evening was closed out with Pastor Juan, with Pedro interpreting. The ladies are doing a Bible study with the little ones tomorrow and spent part of the evening prepping for that.
That’s all for Wednesday. Tune in again tomorrow. And keep praying!

Prayers for strength and endurance for the entire team – not to give up the good work God has called you to do. And for the team’s family and friends at home keeping the hearths going!
