One of the most important aspects of this entire building campaign is the role of prayer, for a couple of reasons.
First, the campaign is spiritual work with eternal implications. All spiritual strides are made on our knees in humble dependence on Him.
Second, we must make prayer central to this effort because it is through prayer that our own hearts are brought into alignment with His heart and we become convinced of the part which God wants us to play.
The prayer effort in this campaign will be organized around three areas:
- The mission and vision of the church.
- The provision of His resources.
- Personal direction regarding financial comments.
We are instructed to take our requests to Him in expectancy that He will prove Himself faithful.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Specific Prayer Requests
- Pray for spiritual protection for each team member and their family.
- Wisdom & direction from God to do His will.
- The organizational aspect of beginning this campaign—it can seem overwhelming.
