2024 Open Door Coat Rack Collection

Open Door Coat Rack is a community-wide collaboration to provide gently used winter wear for local families in need at no cost. We will be accepting donations of new or gently-used winter wear through October 20 for men, women, and children of all sizes. Acceptable items include coats, snow pants, boots, hats, mittens/gloves, scarves/gators, etc. Hangers are also needed! All donations will be dropped off at United Methodist Church (UMC) on October 21. If you can help bring coats to UMC, please contact the church office at 218-327-9343!

Used Winter Wear Must Be:

  • Washed & Clean
  • Gently Used
  • Zippers that Work
  • No Stains
  • No Mending Needed
  • No Long Coats, Wool Coats or Jackets with Advertising
  • No Light-Weight Jackets
  • Inspected Prior to Delivery
  • Please Bring on Hangers (no bags or boxes)
  • Cash donations accepted to purchase items not donated
  • There is typically a shortage of children’s snow pants, boots, waterproof mittens/gloves and adult extra large sizes coats/jackets

Distribution dates for families in need will be Wednesday and Thursday, October 23-24 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. First come, first served.

Volunteers for donation collection dates and distribution dates are needed.

We will not accept donations at GREFC after Oct. 20! If you have donations after Noon on Oct. 20, we encourage you to bring them directly to the United Methodist Church.
