The book of Ecclesiastes starts with the words, “Meaningless! Meaningless!” to describe humanity’s life here on Earth. While we are not able to control everything in our lives nor fully grasp God’s plan, we are called to rely on the one who can. Ecclesiastes invites us to live with open hands and faithful hearts, finding joy not in what we control, but in who we know: a good, purposeful, loving and eternal God. Today's passage holds every Christian's "job description." We are each to be heralds of the King and our job is to warn, teach and present everyone we come across complete - or grown up - in Christ. This isn't easy, in fact it may be a struggle. But thankfully we do it, not in our own power, but in the power of Jesus Christ.
