As we head into the part of Exodus that deals with the law, there are a few important thoughts to keep in mind. God is building a nation for relationship with Him and it is still that way today. God cares about how we live our lives. We are to remember that God has already redeemed and rescued Israel, so the law doesn't add to their salvation. Instead it is meant to sanctify them. God takes the 10 words he gave them, and parses them out to give examples of how to practically live them out in daily life.

A relationship with Jesus is the key to true rest, true worship and true service. And it is only through a relationship with Jesus that we can know God. We can't do it on our own. When you come to the end of yourself, that is where a relationship with God begins.
