For me the trip was a great success!! We accomplished what we set out to do. In the process, a lot of neat things happened.
We got to know our team better as we traveled and spent time together. I was truly blessed to work with Robert, Paul, Greg & Sandy, and Renee for one day. Each one brought special gifts to the job site. The unity between the group was awesome and so much fun and the unity between the DR workers and home owner was also special.
The time we spent as a group for breakfast & supper was neat, also. The food was great. It was also fun to sit on the rooftop and chat about the day and get to know each other better.
There was a song that came to me while sitting on the rooftop, looking at the mountains in awe of God!! It was the song that the chorus goes like this ( I will shout it from the rooftop from the mountain I’ll proclaim that I am yours, I am yours).
Greg thanks for doing a job no one wanted to!!

Where to begin? I guess, before the trip. I was very happy, and blessed, to be a part of the trip. I saw God provide funds for my participation. Then doubts arose when Laura had her stroke. How could I leave? Was this a test from God or a temptation from Satan? A total refund was possible. An easy way out! We prayed fervently!
Many people stepped forward to fill in the gap that my absence would bring. We decided I would go. Thanks to all who helped while I was gone, what a blessing!
The Lord blessed the whole adventure, from moments after we left the ground and the plane being struck by lightening, (more time in fervent prayer) to the bright and joyful smiling faces of those who we helped to provide homes for. Along the way there was confusion and frustration, tiredness from the heat, these are a part of our physical weakness (the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak). We knew God brought us there and provided abundantly for us.
The best part of the trip was the fellowship in spending time with the other members of the group, and sharing our lives together. There is much more to be said, but in all things I give God the glory for the blessing of being included in this adventure, (yes I would do it again, and again.) After I got back, this verse came to mind, “Sell all you have and give it to the poor.”
