There are two projects that the church leaders felt needed to be done regardless of whether or not the building vote went through: The parking lot and remodeling of the KidZone. These two projects are proceeding this summer with hopes of being completed before September.
Parking Lot Re-Grading & Expansion
Our current parking lot has a significant slope and a few low areas. We are also experiencing a lack of adequate parking on Sunday mornings. This summer we hope to do some re-grading and expanding of our parking lot.
We are fortunate to have a team from Terex test some of their machines by carving out the hill behind the church and using that material for fill in the low areas. This equipment testing is free to us and will take place in August.
We have a plan to remove the stumps and grass in front of the church to allow for more efficient, two-sided parking in that area.
In addition, we’ll be adding additional parking to the east, back to the tree-line, and adding another driveway to the parking lot.
The parking lot will remain gravel and will be paved when/if we proceed with the building project.

KidZone Reconstruction
Reconstruction of the KidZone is underway. Led by Larry Curtiss, the reconstruction team has been at work widening the hallway and removing a wall between two classrooms. New doors have arrived that will help secure the hallway to the bathroom in preparation for the preschool classes that will be housed in the room right next to it.
Throughout July, the crew will work at creating a wider hallway to the bathroom. They will also work to finish the newly expanded classroom space and new children’s ministry office.
As you bring your children back for Pathfinders classes on Sunday mornings, please be careful of areas under construction. The crews do everything they can to minimize the construction debris, but we still ask that you use caution while construction is in process.
