A messages from the series “Christmas Songs: The Scriptures Sing of the Son.” In the story of Jesus’ birth we get a glimpse into the character of his mother, Mary. From the song that she sang as listed in the Gospel of Luke, we learn that she is not only a pure and innocent virgin, but that she was humble, had great faith, was obedient, believed that God could do anything, and though she had nothing to offer, God greatly blessed her and she rejoiced with gratitude. When God breaks through in our lives, may we be like Mary.
The Song of Isaiah
by
A messages from the series “Christmas Songs: The Scriptures Sing of the Son.” What child is this? Some 600 years before Jesus came to earth the prophet Isaiah delved into who this child would be, so accurately that some have a hard time believing it. Through Isaiah’s Servant Songs, he pointed to an unlikely messiah, one who was despised, unglamorous, misunderstood, and unaccepted. And that this King would sacrifice and intercede for us, for you and me.
The Song of David
by
A messages from the series “Christmas Songs: The Scriptures Sing of the Son.” The Song of David was written just after the Arc of the Covenant came to Jerusalem. It was a song of celebration because the Israelites felt that God was back with them, just as He had been in the pillar of fire as He led them out of Egypt and as He would be with them in the temple. But we can celebrate because God ultimately chose to dwell with us as a human in the man, Jesus Christ, and now dwells with believers forever as the indwelt Holy Spirit.

Bringing the Gospel to Everyone
by
A messages from the series “The DNA of a Disciple.” In the final installment of this series, Elder Quintin Legler challenges us to bring the gospel to everyone, near and far. We do this in a two-fold fashion by being on mission and sharing the gospel with others through evangelism, and also through disciple-making efforts, teaching others to be like Jesus and to bring Him – the Gospel – to others.
The Church
by
A messages from the series “The DNA of a Disciple.” The church is a collection of believers called to a specific purpose, which is to bring the gospel to the nations and to love and care for other believers. All believers are part of the universal church – all believers throughout the world. We may also be a part of a local church. When we become believers, the Holy Spirit starts transforming us to look more like Jesus and also gifts us with specific traits that have a specific purpose and are to be used to build up others in the faith.

Behold and Listen to the Servant King
by
A messages from the series “The Gospel of Matthew: Will You Believe King Jesus?.” Again in today’s scripture Jesus tells his disciples what is going to happen to him and they miss it. They are more concerned with themselves than with what will happen to Jesus. So when they agree that they can fully follow Him in all that he does, they don’t understand what that really means. Let us not be that way!
