If you’re anything like me, you’re scratching your head and wondering where summer went.It seems like just moments ago that we were planning for our fall kick-off and wondering how we were going to cram everything into August to finish out the summer.
Yes, August went by fast, but it wasn’t without some sweet blessings from God!
Bridging the GAP
The Bridging the GAP event was a huge success! We were so happy to feed a bunch of hungry and fun-loving football and volleyball players. So many of you came out to help and it was so cool to see you sit down and get to know the athletes. By the second night, the football players felt so comfortable that they got on stage and started playing piano and singing.
God used those nights to show His love to these young adults, to show them that there is a place where they are loved, accepted and can be themselves. Please be in prayer for all these kids, that they will find a church home and that they will move closer to Jesus this year.
Fall Kick-Off
We had out big Pre-Season Kick-off Event on August 28th where we had opportunities for people to sign up for fall programming and serving opportunities. We were so encouraged by how many people signed up somewhere. It shows us that we have a very engaged community of believers here! From wanting to serve on a ministry, to joining a Bible Study, to signing your kids up for Sunday School and Student ministries…it was really great to see!As staff, we’ve been praying HARD for the Lord to bring us leaders in all respects. And He has been faithful. It was so fun to see one of us walk into the church office to say that someone they hadn’t even been thinking of had stepped out in faith to be a leader. How cool is that?!
Going Forward
We realize, going forward, that we are on a razor’s edge. We are growing quite rapidly. We feel this is the Lord’s doing and we want to be responsible in following His promptings. We need to balance our use of space, our leadership capacity, our staffing and how much and when we make changes, while honoring what got us here in the first place. Please be in prayer for our leaders and staff, that we wait on the Lord and make the best decisions for the entire church body.In His Name,
