Our dedicated team started the day early at the airport in Minneapolis.
The team boarded their flight at 7:32 am. They arrived at JFK International around 11:30 am our time. They had a couple hours layover where they had time to relax a bit.
Soon it was time to board the plane that would take them to the Dominican Republic.
The crew arrived in Santo Domingo around 4:30 pm our time. Everyone was present and accounted for.
Soon they met up with Franklin Garcia, who I believe is from the World Servant’s Center. From here they would board a bus and travel to San Cristobal. If I recall it’s a long trip, especially if there’s a lot of traffic. It requires them to travel a rough and curvy road up a mountain which apparently is not for the faint-of-heart or for those with weak stomachs.
As of 10:30 tonight (Monday), I haven’t heard from Doug or my husband Scott since they left for San Cristobal. I’m sure they are all worn out amigos after a very full day of travel.
They will be spending the week at the World Servant’s Center in San Cristobal. Each day they will travel up into the hills to build homes for the folks who live there.
Please keep this team of humble servants in your prayers. Check in each day for updates or subscribe to receive a notice whenever there is a new post. Don’t forget to check facebook and instagram for updates as well.
