A blog is a lofty undertaking for a simple church like ours. We (church leadership and staff) aren’t all gifted writers or photographers. We don’t always have deep and philosophical things to say. And, overall, we’re pretty humble and don’t generally want the spotlight on us.
Why should we even do this, you may ask? Because, we highly value relationships in this church. We realize we can’t easily sit down and have a face-to-face and heart-to-heart conversation with everyone who walks through our doors, much as we’d like to.
So, even though we aren’t gifted writers or deep thinkers, we still have stories to share and a desire to be more transparent to those who don’t always know us well or what we’re about. We encourage comments on this blog. We love conversations.
With that said, we’re starting off our blog-writing escapades with something we feel most would want to hear about in real-time: the Dominican Republic Mission Trip. Elders Doug Hanson and Paul Huttner will be posting pictures and stories from their trip. Encourage them and the rest of the team with comments and questions.
After that, we’ll do our best to keep the stories coming with different authors. We’ll start slow, about one post per month. Bear with us as we get used to this. And if you have an idea for something you’d like to see us address on this blog, please let us know.
