LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW WE DO…

Weddings

Weddings are a beautiful thing and we want to help you prepare not only for a great wedding but a great marriage. While we encourage prospective couples to carefully read through our Wedding Policy, in general here are the answers to what you’re wondering about as you seek a venue in which to be married:

  • We will only marry Christian couples.
  • We DO allow people outside of our church family to be married here and you can use your own pastor.
  • Church members and their families are not charged to use the facility and prices increase for attending non-members, and increase more for non-attenders.
  • We require the couple to attend pre-marital counseling. It does not have to be with one of our pastors.
  • We have limited space for receptions.

Baptisms & Child Dedications

We believe that baptism is an ordinance mandated by Jesus Christ that visibly and tangibly expresses the gospel. We do not believe that baptism is a means of salvation but is an expression of a person’s conscious choice to having surrendered their life to Jesus Christ. For this reason we do not perform infant baptisms.

We encourage all believers who can comprehend their decision to follow Jesus to be baptized by full immersion, even if they were baptized as infants. However, everyone, regardless of baptism status, is welcome to worship with us on Sundays. Those seeking to become members of GREFC must have been baptized and we accept infant and adult baptisms as a qualification for membership.

We offer a Baptism Class for any individual who wants to learn more about our position on baptism and what the Bible says about it, regardless of whether that person decides to be baptized. For those choosing to proceed with baptism, we typically hold a baptism service at a local lake in late summer and combine it with an all-church picnic. But we have the ability to baptize individuals throughout the entire year in our Worship Center.

We also offer Child Dedication opportunities twice each year. Families may dedicate children of all ages. Dedications are a way for parents to publicly pledge to bring up their child(ren) to know and love God as Father and Jesus as Savior and for the church family to pledge in return to support the parents as they do so. Dedications happen during a regularly scheduled church service.

Using Our Facility

We want our facility to be used by God and be a blessing to our entire community! As such, our spaces are available to be used by our members and attenders, as well as by the greater community, for non-church-related events that do not conflict with any previously scheduled church ministry events. We do require that all people and organizations using our facility agree to abide by our requirements pertaining to our faith position.

Funerals & Memorial Services

Upon the death of a loved one there are so many immediate tasks that need to be taken care of when all you want to do is stop to grieve. Our Bereavement Team Ministry will come alongside of you during these hard times, to lovingly help you navigate the funeral arrangements and serve as the liaison between the grieving family, the funeral home and the church office/staff.

Our Vision

Faith is a Journey

You never really “arrive” at becoming a mature disciple maker. We are all called to continually grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus, to grow in love for others, to get better at blessing those around us and to increasingly share the love of Jesus with everyone. At GREFC we realize this through four key areas: Connect, Equip, Serve & Go!
